Post 287: Simple Vintage Love Themed Card

Hi folks!

I'm sharing a Simple Vintage Love Themed Card today. This was made for a Guest Design post for stencils. All the details can be found here. For this card, I wanted to try out a different look so I used a book page from an old romantic novel. Tore its edges and pasted it onto a mat of black cardstock whose edges were torn as well. Sponged on Broken China Distress Oxide and Peacock Feathers & Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink through the CrafTreat Layered Stencil – Feathers (NBUS). Stamped the sentiment "Quill you be mine" using the NBUS stamp bought on clearance a while back Taylored Expressions Cling Stamp- Punny Love. Then this panel was distressed with Vintage Photo and Black Soot Distress Ink and crumpled a few times to get a really worn out look. Further, this panel was adhered to the card base with 3d foam tape and a wooden heart button and a black twine bow was added as an embellishment.

Post 285: Christmas Card (Let it Snow)

Hi Folks!

I'm sharing a Christmas Card today. This was made for a Guest Design post for stencils. All the details can be found here. For this card, I sponged on the Christmas tree design from the stencil using Emerald Green Archival Ink. I used archival Ink because I knew I was going to spray water over top of the design and archival inks are permanent once dry. Then I sprayed on 3 colors of Lindys Stamp Gang Starburst Sprays (Blingy Blonde, Drop Dead Gorgeous Green and Sassy Sapphire) and sprayed on some water to make them mix. Once this was dry it looked shimmery and green. Then I stamped the snowflakes and sentiment using the Uniko Stunning Snowflakes Stamp. In the end, I added sparkle with silver stickles by creating tiny dots and a hand drawn border around the foam mounted panel.

Hi folks!

Some of the layers have background stamping using Mudra Stamps. White Gesso was used to prep the base and color was added using Lindy's sprays (Sassy Sapphire, Tibetan Poppy Teal & Cattail Copper Brown) - those were the blues and brown in my stash, distress ink and gelatos. Flowers, old book pages, mdf cutouts, threads and pollens were added for embellishment & layers.

Post 282: Mixed Media Bookmarks

Hi folks!

I'd like to share a set of 3 Mixed Media Bookmarks. I used many stamps from my personal stash and tried to use them in Mixed Media Projects. The idea was to get more out of what is already with us. These were featured in a Guest Design Post, all the details can be checked out here. For more details and photos, please visit the Mudra blog. For these bookmarks, I have created the background by blending few colors of gelatos. Then, did random stamping using Mudra Stamps (with black archival ink) and/or stenciling (with distress oxide and distress ink). The basic intent was to create interest and layers without adding bulk. These were then matted on black cardstock.

I wanted the bird to have a softer look so I went over the stenciled pattern with an aqua brush so it looked like I had painted her in. Synopsis of the Process: This is a 6 by 6 top folding card. Basically I created layers and textures with pattern paper, die cuts, lace and gauze. Stamping was done in the background and color was added using zig markers. I created simple paper flowers to embellish the project by die cutting pattern paper.
