Post 203: CAS Card- Musical Birthday Wishes

Hi friends :)

How are you doing? How is the weather in your part of the world? It was very hot in Delhi. But for the past couple of days we have had rains. That has offered us some respite from the heat and lowered the temperatures. I had a few new supplies and in trying out the supplies, I came up with a few Clean and Simple masculine cards.

First up, is a CAS Masculine Card, this is for a boy who really loves music. The card is a standard A2 size top folding one. I did some ink blending and played with classic masculine colors white, blue and black. I really enjoy that color combination :)

List of Supplies:

Ranger Dye Inkpad- Blue Ribbon and Caribbean Coast
Ranger Archival Inkpad- Manganese Blue and Jet Black
Black and Iris White Cardstock 250 gsm
Silver and Blue Sequins
Tombow Mono Multi Glue
Ranger's Distress Mini Inkpad- Peacock Feathers
Washi Tape
Corner Rounder

Here is a photograph of the card:

Post 202: Mixed Media Layout- Make Today Amazing

Hi friends :)

I'd like to share a Mixed Media Layout titled Make Today Amazing. The smaller titles read "Live your life" and "Fly". I wanted the layout to convey a warm and summery feel where one can be totally free .

I've created layers, used the color palette of yellow, white and black with touches of pink for contrast. Used water coloring to create the background. Done ink blending (with distress ink and distress oxide) through multiple stencils. Also did background stamping. In the end, finished off with some ink splatter.

Post 148: Mixed Media Butterfly Tag 2

Hi friends :)

I'd like to share the second mixed media tag I made. The color scheme here is black, white and yellow. The sentiment reads "If nothing ever changed, there'd be no butterflies".

Synopsis of the process:

- On the die cut tag added some color with distress inks then did some stamping with archival ink.
- Then to create some texture added some gesso through a clock stencil
- Colored the cherry blossoms with a yellow camlin brush marker
- Used sprays to add color and create drips
-Created some depth in the clocks with a black zig marker and an aqua brush
- On a snippet of cardstock stamped the butterfly in distress ink and archival ink, fussy cut it and adhered the 2 layers together to make a 3d butterfly, added stitching details to it using a black sharpie and adhered it to the tag
- Darkened the edges of the tag with distress ink
- Adhered this tag to another tag to give additional strength and also attached it slightly off center for interest, distressed the white edges of the tag at the back so the deckled edges can be seen from the front.
- In the end, tied some twine and organza ribbon to the tag

Post 147: Mixed Media Butterfly Tag 1

Hi friends :)

First of all, thanks a lot for all your sweet and kind comments and prayers, my mum is feeling better and is on the mend, there are still more results awaited from the hospital but praying to God that everything is okay. Big panda hugs to you all xoxoxo.

I was free for a while today so thought of indulging in some crafting. Made a couple of mixed media tags. Sharing the first one here. The color scheme is black, white and shades of yellow. The sentiment reads "The butterfly counts not months but moments and has time enough."

Synopsis of the process:

-Took the die cut tag and colored it in some places with distress inks and sprays then did stenciling with distress ink.
- Did background stamping with multiple stamps using distress ink and archival ink.
-Added some darker details with the stencil and a black marker.
-On snippets of cardstock, stamped the sentiment and butterflies with jet black archival ink. The butterflies were fussy cut and the sentiment label was prepared by stamping in the background and distressing the edges and coloring it here and there to give a grungy look. Then the butterflies and sentiment were adhered to the tag.
-A yellow eyelet was added to the tag using a crop-a-dile
- Some seam binding was colored with black and yellow colored sprays and tied to the tag.
- Lastly, a darker border was created with inks and faux stitching was added using a black sharpie.
