Hi friends!!
Today is my first DT post for
AB Studio by
Aga Baraniak. I played with their
beautiful stencils and have created a
Mixed Media Layout- "Inspire".
The inspiration behind this layout came from the
lovely photo of the dancer, I loved the
angular pose she made and wanted to use the
geometrical design stencils from my DT kit in this layout :)
The AB Studio stencils have great designs and are of high quality, so they can be used with all kinds of mediums like paints, inks, sprays etc... I would highly recommend you to check out the store (stamps, stencils, papers etc) as they have worldwide shipping and tons of options designed by world renowned artists. To explore the store, please click
HERE. Also, for lots of inspiration and product info. you can join the
AB Studio Facebook Group.
Here are some photos of the layout:
Step-by-Step Pictorial:
1. Added color to the background using the ink smooshing technique (with a piece of acetate) and Gansai Tambi watercolors
6. Did background stamping using grey archival ink, distress oxide & mini stamps by Prima & Mudra
7. To accentuate the fan design, outlined it with a watercolor pencil and went over the outline with a water brush
8. Created die cuts for layering using thick black cardstock
9. Gathered the supplies for layering, used 3d foam tape in some places to add dimension, used die cuts, flowers, gauze & thread to create texture.
10. In the end, adhered a few sequins and gems, added some art stones with soft matte gel for added texture and created some ink splashes
