Hi Friends :)
I wanted to create a love themed CAS card with watercoloring today. I had bought a small 6 pack set of water colors (student grade) from a local craft shop a few months back but did not have the time to play with it and since watching K. Werner's youtube videos on watercoloring, especially the ones where she creates beautiful cards using minimal supplies or inexpensive student grade watercolors, I thought I should try it too :)
This is an A2 size top folding card. The ombre water colored panel was made by mixing various options from the 6 piece water color set, pack of 12 zigs and varing the amounts of black and white. Essentially I wet the panel (Bielo Cardstock 300 gsm) with a water brush and kept applying water color with the water brush in horizontal lines, I wanted the colors to give a sort of ombre look but also merge together so I did not wait for them to dry, I kept adding the layers one after another. This panel was allowed to dry naturally overnight and then die cut with one of the stitched rectangles die from Gina Marie Designs. I pasted this panel on the card front in a tilted way to add more interest to the card :) I stamped the bigger flower from the Uniko Beautiful Blooms I set along with 2 of the leaves with Archival Jet Black Ink and then die cut them using the matching dies. To add color and slight shading to the solid stamped image I used a water brush and zig clean color brush pens. Then I added some highlights with the white gel pen. I kept the leaves as black and white. The floral arrangement was pasted onto the panel. For the sentiment I wanted to keep it simple so I used die cuts from the sizzix tim holtz celebration script words die (I cut off the "y and o" from the "you" and made it "u" because I thought that was more fun and also because the white sentiment looked good against the black in the panel else the y would hang.)
Supplies Used:
1. Iris cardstock 250 gsm and Bielo Cardstock 300 gsm
2. Uniko stamps and die- Beautiful Blooms I
3. Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens- pack of 12
4. Water Brush
5. Sizzix Tim Holtz Celebration Script Words Die
6. Tombow Mono Aqua Liquid Glue
7. Uniball Gigno White Gel Pen
8. Camlin Watercolors (student grade - set of 6)
