Hi Friends
I'd like to share a tag with you today. I'm also excited to share that I am having a small crafty giveaway which is open to anyone worldwide (international folks are most welcome). All the details can be found here -- I'd be super thrilled and honored if you play along :) the prize is a 25 USD gift certificate to any store you like.
Now onto the tag, this is a mixed media spring themed tag with lots of bright colored flowers, leaves and butterflies.
Synopsis of the Process:-
The base of the tag is upcycled from the cardboard packaging of distress markers. White Gesso was applied to it along with that some thread was also stuck on to give texture and also wound around the tag. Then for the background, stamping was done with archival jet black ink using the designs by ryn- texture stamps. The leaves stamp and the circular design from the same stamp set and the clematis doodle stamp from so suzy stamps were also stamped onto some cardstock, colored with zig markers and distress crayons and then fussy cut. Then through a flower and butterfly design stencil some texture paste was applied onto the tag. Color was applied with sprays and mica powder. The fussy cut images and a few flowers were arranged onto the tag and adhered. The title is from the so suzy stamps - color of spring stamp, it was stamped and then the sentiment was cut apart, the edges were distressed and colored with black ink and then using adhesive foam tape, it was pasted onto the tag. To bring out the details more, some white dots and lines were added using a white gel pen and a charcoal pencil was used to give definition to the edges followed by an aqua brush to smooth out the lines. In the end, some splatters of watered down white gesso were made.
