Post 136: Art Journal Pages: Dream On

Hi friends :)

I'd like to share a mixed media art journal spread with you, titled "Dream On". The color scheme here is black, white with bits of blue :)

Synopsis of the process:

1. Applied white gesso to prep the pages then some washi tape to add patterns and texture.
2. Did background stamping with archival jet black ink
3. Added texture paste through a stencil at various places, after it dried colored the blocks with a black sharpie.
4. Did stamping on some snippets of cardstock, distressed the edges.
5. Die cut the gears and tags from snippets of cardstock, then distressed them with black soot distress ink (gave a greyish look), colored them with a black gelato (blended with finger for a softer look) or black zig marker (for dark black look).
6. Layered the elements and ephemera (corrugated cardstock snippets, gauze, clothes tags, tags, die cuts) and adhered them using Tombow glue.
7. Used the black zig marker and an aqua brush to add color and depth.
8. Inked the edges of the pages, doodled to create a border with a sharpie.
9. In the end, created splatter with some watered down black paint and tied some threads to the tags.
