Hi Friends!
Synopsis of the Process:
1. The large tag was made by adhering 2 pieces of 250 gsm white cardstock measuring 8 inches by 4.5 inches together, this made a sturdy tag.
2. The background was created with stencilling (with gesso, black marker and pink marker), background stamping with arhival ink and adding colors with distress inks and zig markers using an aqua brush and sprays.
3. The dragonfly was stamped in archival ink and then colored with zig markers. Some dots were created with a uniball signo white gel pen.
4. All the layering elements including pattern paper (which was torn to be layered), the paper straws (handmade using pattern paper), die cuts, thread etc were layered and stuck down with Tombow glue
5. More details and colors were added using zig markers and an aqua brush. Some pink glitter glue was applied to the dragonfly and some other areas. Gems were added.
6. Splashes of black, white and pink were created with paints
7. A border was drawn with a brustro pen
8. Hole was punched with a wrmk crop-a-dile and then some seam binding was colored with sprays and inks, some stamping was done on it with archival ink (just for some interest) and this was tied to the tag.

I hope you are having a good week so far :) thanks again for all your supportive comments (big hugs to you ladies :)) , it means the world to me. We got the okay from the docs and mum seems to be recovering fine, she is still on medication and has to go back to the hospital a few times in the following weeks but the scare is over and we are all relieved. Parents certainly are important and seeing them ill is heart breaking. Thanks to God, all seems well.
Onto the crafty business now :) I'd like to share a large mixed media tag titled "be free", the color scheme for this is black, white and pink. The inspiration for this tag came from the word "free" when I thought about it, it seemed like we are all caught up in society's expectations or those of others and we try to please others and in doing that we sometimes are untrue to our real selves, so it is always a dichotomy between being oneself and being someone people are happy with. To represent this I colored the stamped dragonfly in camouflage colors so that he blended into the surrounding black/pink/white space and also added entangled thread to represent being stuck and being as everyone wants one to be but added silver gems on the body of the moth to represent his uniqueness. The theme is that one needs to free oneself of all the unnecessary noise and just be free, be oneself.
