Good morning!!
So today is the start of the New Year after Diwali (in India), here is wishing everyone a very happy new year filled with loads of happiness, good health, success, fortune and contentment.
In the early hours of the morning today I woke up at 5 am and felt like trying my hands at mixed media, so here is my very first take on a mixed media layout. I tried to include many different elements in the layout dusty attic chipboard, metal charms, buttons, fabric, paper and give the layout a multi-layered, textured effect.
As I was playing along with the Dusty Attic October Challenge, I was inspired by the "home" which I incorporated in my layout as the textured brick background. I was also inspired by the yellow and black colors in the moodboard and included those in my layout. I have used the Dusty Attic bubbles chipboard in this layout (the chipboard and also the round negatives in it.)
I was also playing along with the More than Words Main Challenge, so I kept the color palette such as to give an ombre effect so there are shades of yellow, orange, brown and black. The message of "embrace the change" includes the word change but I also chose butterflies in my project because I think they depict change in a great way, it is nature's way of telling us that change can be good and that embracing change and going after our dreams is a good thing. I think the color palette is very autumn inspired so that also is a depiction of change- a seasonal change!
For the Papericious October Challenge I have used the Vintage Attire Premium Collection papers and included fabric in the form of dyed laces and net fabric. The papers I chose from the papericious pack had the perfect ombre effect and colors so it gave me a great backdrop to build layers and textures on!!
Process and Supplies Used:
(Some of the supplies used)
(Applying white gesso to on the Dusty Attic Bubbles Chipboard)
(Coloring the laces and net fabric to give an ombre effect)
(All the elements collected and made ready before adhering to the page)
Thanks for your time!! Stay Blessed :)

4. Lulupu challenge #66- Bling a ding with a stamping twist - I have stamped all the butterflies and the vintage wall (displayed on the top left) and also created the aged look in the background and the layers of paper used for matting by randomly stamping small bits and parts of the prima wall. The bling element is added with the pearlized metallic paint and also the small yellow/cream round bling gems on the bottom right.
This is wonderful! I love your butterflies that represent change and the yellows look fabulous! Thanks so much for joining us at More Than Words and The Dusty Attic this month.
