Scenery Card

Hi Friends

I'd like to share a card with you today. Just to let you know, I am having a crafty giveaway which is open to anyone (international folks are most welcome). All the details can be found here -- I'd be super thrilled and honored if you play along :) the prize is a 25 USD gift certificate to any store you like and you can join in at anytime till April 1, 2017

Now onto the card, this is a side folding A2 size card in which I did ink blending to create a scenery. I wanted this to be a loving and encouraging card and to look like the big birdie is telling the lil birdie that "I will always be there for you" :) lol ! I think that is pretty cute

To start I took a panel of iris white cardstock which was die cut using the largest of the stitched rectangle dies. Then I tore a snippet of paper to create the shape of a grassy mound, this was used as a screen. I started blending distress inks first to create the sky part (distress ink colors used- peacock feathers, mustard seed, chipped sapphire and broken china) and then using the other side of the screen to create the grassy ground part (distress ink colors used- twisted citron, evergreen bough and cracked pistachio). A light touch was used along with circular motions to blend the inks and I kept going back to add more color as and where required. A hand cut cloud shape (out of a snippet) was also used to mask off an area of the sky. Out of the Winnie & Walter - A tree for all seasons stamp set, the tree shape was stamped using archival jet black ink onto the grassy area. Then one of the leaves from the same stamp set was stamped on the tree repeatedly in order to create the pattern of a tree in bloom. A snippet of cardstock was used to cut a cloud and then it was colored using zig markers. This was adhered to the card panel on top of the white cloud shape to give more dimension. One of the birdie images from the Taylored Expressions Cling Stamp Set- Mama & Me was stamped on a snippet of iris cardstock with archival ink and then colored using zig markers and an aqua brush. The sentiment was heat embossed onto the panel after the area was prepped with a homemade emboss buddy. The birdie images were fussy cut and then adhered to the panel using double sided foam tape. Finally the panel was adhered to the card base using fevicol glue and in the end 3 star shaped silver sequins were added to the panel using glossy accents.
