Post 402: Crafter's Corner 101: Website Navigation (How to use the website)- DT post

Hi folks!!

Happy to share that I have joined as a Design Team Member at Crafter's Corner
Crafter's Corner is one of India's biggest Craft Stores and an awesome place to shop at for Craft Supplies!

Today, is my first DT post and it is all about website navigation and how to use the Crafter's Corner Site. It is a very basic but essential thing. Many of us are still not very comfortable with online purchases or ecommerce, so in a step-by-step way I have described the entire process of placing an order and also shown some of the features of the site (some of which even I didn't know until today, even though I have been a regular customer)

Post 401: Simple Mixed Media Card- Cheers

Hi folks!

I'd like to share a Simple Mixed Media Card.

For this celebration card, I created the background by sponging on white acrylic paint through the DMC-Thumb Print stencil and then Black Archival Ink through the DMC-Couture Fashion Stencil. The sentiment is a Winnie & Walter- In a Word Cutaway and to add sparkle to it, I used some multi medium matte and then sprinkled on the DMC-Rainbow Glitter Chunks. In real life, it looks very shiny & sparkly. This was part of my GD post for Crafter's Corner a few days back, all the details are here.
Here are a couple of photos of the card:

I am playing along with the following challenges:

Winnie & Walter's 4th Birthday Bash Celebrations:
Four Challenge with Shay (4 layers- die cut word, main stenciled panel of kraft cardstock, black mat & white card base)
Comeback Challenge with Taheerah (I was inspired by Heather's card below and the Kraft, white & black color combination)

Thanks for your precious time!
Love reading your sweet comments :)

Post 400: Simple Mixed Media Card- Hi

Hi folks!

I'd like to share a Simple Mixed Media Card.

For this Hi card, to create the background, I sponged on white acrylic paint through the Dress My Craft (DMC)- Swirls Stencil and then with a soft touch created a sponged on white border. The sentiment is a die cut from Winnie & Walter's In a Word Cutaways to which I added DMC-Rainbow Glitter using Dovecraft’s Ultimate Acrylic Craft Glue. This was part of my GD post for Crafter's Corner a few days back, all the details are here

Here is a photo of the card:

Winnie & Walter's 4th Birthday Bash Celebrations:
Four Challenge with Shay (4 layers- die cut word, main stenciled panel, black mat & white card base)
Comeback Challenge with Taheerah (I was inspired by Taheerah's black and white card below. I also made a black and white card and to add the rainbow element, I added rainbow glitter on the die cut word "Hi" although it doesn't show up well in the photos.

Post 398: Fun with Tags & Cards (DT post for Mudra Craft Stamps)

Hi friends!!

I have a new blog post on the Mudra Craft Stamps Blog today. I tried making flowers for the first time, foam ones at that :) it was so much fun! To visit the blog post, please click HERE.

As you know, Mudra introduced an awesome new product during their January Release- 10 gorgeous new "Chipzeb" Designer Chipboards. These beautiful white chipboards are intricately designed and economical. Would highly recommend you to check them out and try them.

For today's post, I have shared 2 Mixed Media Tags and 4 cards using lots of gorgeous supplies by Mudra Craft Stamps.

For the Mixed Media Tags, I have used Mudra's Chipzeb "Simply Tags" Designer Chipboards

Here is some useful information about these tags:

The packet contains 6 chipboard tags of various sizes.
These are about 1.2 mm in thickness & made of sturdy creme color high quality board
They take mediums, colors etc very well. With or without primer i.e. Gesso.
For today's Mixed Media Tags, I applied a thick layer of white Gesso, added texture with Modelling paste and used sprays to add color to 2 of these tags. They took all these mediums well.

Here are the approximate sizes of the tags (in centimeters):

- 16.5 by 8.9
- 13.4 by 6.8
- 9.5 by 4.8
- 6.7 by 2.7
- 5 by 3
- 5 by 2

One idea to use the smaller sized tags is to add them as cute embellishments or for stamping/writing messages whilst the larger sizes can be used for making gift tags.

Here is a little peek at some of the projects:

Thanks a lot for your time :)

Post 395: Inspiration for Craft Stamper Magazine's Take it Make it Challenge-February

Hi friends !!

I'd like to share a Mixed Media Card I made as inspiration for Craft Stamper Magazine's Take it Make it Challenge for February. This time, the beautiful prizes are sponsored by Darkroom Door. Please do participate in the challenge for a chance at prizes, a Guest Design Spot and an opportunity to be published in the magazine!! All the rules are mentioned on the blog and we can't wait to see your wonderful creations :)

Here are a few photos of the card:

Process

First, I stamped the coffee image onto the watercolor paper panel and then did watercoloring with  zig clean color real brush markers, inktense pencils and a waterbrush. Then added a few highlights and shading with prisma color pencils. To add more interest & texture to the background, I added white gesso through a stencil in a few different areas.  Then stamped on a border and darkened the edges of the panel with black soot distress ink. Added the sentiment which is a die cut. (It was layered white on black and adhered slightly off-set to get a shadowed look). Finally matted the panel with black cardstock and foam mounted it on a white cardbase, 5 by 7 inches in size.

Supplies:

Stamper's Anonymous Cling Mounted Tim Holtz Stamp- Fresh Brewed Blueprint
Ranger's Dyan Reaveley's Dylusions Cling Stamp- Inbetweenies
Tim Holtz Stencil- Dots Fade
Winnie & Walter: In a Word- Cheers Cutaway
Prima's Heavy White Gesso
Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers
Versafine Onyx Black Mini Inkpad
Prisma Color Pencils
Inktense pencils
Canson Watercolor Paper
Water Brush
Black Soot Distress Inkpad
Mini Ink Blending tool and foams
White and black cardstock
3d foam tape

Please remember to play along with our beautiful challenge, all the details are HERE

I am playing along with the following challenges:

Grid Challenge with Keren (white grid pattern on the stencilled design- dots fade)
Four Challenge with Shay (4 mediums used- gesso, pencils, watercolors & inks)
Watercolor with a Twist Challenge with Heather (used prismacolor pencils and inktense pencils in addition to zig clean color real brush markers)
Repetitive Stamping Challenge with Crystal (repeatedly stamped the alphas in the background to add interest and also created the border by repeatedly stamping the zig zag design around the main panel)

Thanks for your precious time!
Stay Blessed.
