Post 400: Simple Mixed Media Card- Hi

Hi folks!

I'd like to share a Simple Mixed Media Card.

For this Hi card, to create the background, I sponged on white acrylic paint through the Dress My Craft (DMC)- Swirls Stencil and then with a soft touch created a sponged on white border. The sentiment is a die cut from Winnie & Walter's In a Word Cutaways to which I added DMC-Rainbow Glitter using Dovecraft’s Ultimate Acrylic Craft Glue. This was part of my GD post for Crafter's Corner a few days back, all the details are here.

Comeback Challenge with Taheerah (I was inspired by Taheerah's black and white card below. I also made a black and white card and to add the rainbow element, I added rainbow glitter on the die cut word "Hi" although it doesn't show up well in the photos.

Post 323: CAS Thanks Card

Hi friends :)

Happy Sunday!!

I made 3 Clean and Simple cards over the weekend solely for the purpose of fun and to play in challenges. This first CAS Thanks card is super simple but I love it. Its a small sized card, 3.75 by 5 inches in size. Its made from a tiny little inexpensive stamp (WRMK- Thankful List) I bought from a clearance sale 1 year back and it felt so nice to finally use it. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised that it stamped so well. Filled in, wrote and listed  3 things I'm thankful for using a thin tip Sharpie :) I thought it would make a cute little card to give to a friend. Then, added a bit of washi tape at the bottom as an accent. I really like the black and white look to it.

Post 250: Thanks Card (Gelli Printing)

Hi friends :)

I'm sharing a card today. Made this as part of a GD post on FB. All the details can be found here.

This is a standard A2 sized card. The lines background is created by doing gelli printing with a stencil. The thanks die cut is layered with a black one at the back to give a shadow effect. I've added thread, some silver sequins and silver stickles as embellishments.

Post 162: Mother's Day Card

Hi friends :)

I decided to experiment with a totally new technique for me "chalkboard technique". It was fun and I'd like to play around more with it and hope to get better at it :) for now I'd like to share a card created using this technique.

Synopsis of the Process:

Applied versamark ink through the Mudra Rose stencil onto some black cardstock and then heat embossed it in white. Wanted to it be rough looking so didn't use the emboss buddy. Then applied some picket fence distress ink on top of the card panel. Further, distressed the edges of the panel and applied some versamark ink on the edges and heat embossed the edges in pink. Then roughly tore some black cardstock to create strips and heat embossed the words from the Mudra brushed alphas stamp set on them. Then inked the edges of the strips in versamark and embossed them in pink. Then rubbed some picket fence distress ink on the sentiment strips. After that applied a little distress ink- black soot to the card panel to make the background a little dull and then stuck it to a distressed mat and then adhered these to the card base. Then stuck the sentiment strips to the card panel with foam tape. For added interest and dimension added some thread around the sentiment and sequins to embellish the card.
