Valentine's day Mixed Media Tag

Hi friends!!

Lately, I have been making a lot of CAS cards and enjoying it a lot so to change it up a little, I decided to create some mixed media. I tried to create a little scene where the little penguin is holding a flower with the message "with love" and the 3 hearts are emanating from him going up into the air :) haha isn't that cute! It was fun trying to combine 2 totally different styles, mixed media and the cute images. The design of this tag project is a tag within a tag because I have used a mini tag on the lower right side (on which the penguin sits and a bow is there at the top) this mini tag has nail polish marbling on it.

This is a picture of the tag:--

Here are a few photos of the process:-

I started out by taking a packaging tag from a craft product and painted it with Prima's heavy white gesso.

Then I took some papericious papers from the wedding collection and chose a pink paper with some beautiful roses. I fussy cut them and pasted them onto the bottom left of the tag.

Next I took the Winnie & Walter- In Bloom- Renee's Leaves stamp set and stamped some leaves with ranger's archival jet black ink onto the background.

Then I stamped some sentiments from the Stamplorations- Power of Words- Dee's Artsy Impressions set using versafine onyx black ink. I also used a tag I had prepared earlier which had marbling on it. This was done by dropping nail polishes into a bowl of water. I was inspired to try this new technique by Rahmat. Thanks a bunch for the inspiration :) I had so much fun making marbled tags. So I used one of them in this project.

Prima Modelling Paste was applied through the Artplorations- Bloom Boldly Stencil. Next color was added using Lindy's Stamp Gang Sprays - Maintenance Magenta, Pretty in Pink Pink and Frozen Jack Frost, Zig clean color real brush pens, some black eye liner pencil and a sakura waterbrush.

Also the cute penguin from the Winnie & Walter- Penguin Stamplet set was stamped with versafine onyx black ink along with the sentiment (with love) and then fussy cut.

Then I layered the elements, added Papericious flower chipboard which was painted with inca gold- old silver color, Papericious lace leaves and scripted sqaure sequins, wooden buttons which were stamped with the W & W - In bloom- Renee's Leaves to add interest, Flower pollens, Acrylic heart and to finish off splatters were made with watered down white gesso. I also added silver stickles at places and on the hearts to make them shimmer and clear wink of stella on the penguin and sentiment.

Here are a few pictures of the tag from various angles so you can see the details better :)

Do you notice the square shaped scripted sequins in the middle of the flowery chipboard? I think they look really cool and add so much interest :)

Thanks for your time! Would love to read your comments :)
Stay Blessed.

I am playing along with the following challenges:

Winnie & Walter 3rd birthday bash celebrations:---

Sequin Challenge with Kate ( I have used black scripted square shaped sequins in the project)

Cute Critter Challenge with Gayatri ( I have used the W & W Penguin as the cute critter)

Three Challenge with Shay (I have used 3 stamps in this project)

Moodboard Challenge with Heather P. (There are lots of flowers and leaves in the project, stamped in the background, through the texture paste and flowerly stencil and also the pollens and lastly the lil penguin is holding a flower :) I was inspired by the pink colors in the mood board as well)

Stencil Challenge with Kelly (Stencil has been used in the project along with modelling paste to give texture)

The Gossip Column with Taheerah Atchia No. - Marble (I have used nail polish marbling in the mini tag on which the W & W penguin is placed.)

Lindy's Stamp Gang Color Challenge- February ( 3 Lindy's sprays were used and they have been linked to the online store)

Papericious February Challenge - (Papericious papers, lace, sequins and chipboard all have been used in this project and all the colors in the moodboard are present in the tag in some form)
