Post 140: Layout- Spread Your Wings

Hi friends :)

Thanks for visiting my blog, I truly appreciate it.
I'd like to share a mixed media layout titled "spread your wings" with you.
The color scheme is dark brown, light blue and white with hints of green.

Synopsis of the process:

The birds, flowers and leaves were stamped onto snippets of Bielo Cardstock (which is thick and smooth and condusive to water coloring) with archival ink and then colored with zig markers, an aqua brush and metallic paint for one of the flowers. The images were then fussy cut. The base of the layout is a DCWV white colored pattern paper with subtle designs on it, this was prepped by adhering it to a cardboard of 12 by 12 inches. Then gesso was applied in certain areas and stencilling and stamping was done to create a background. Color was added using sprays and zig markers. The wonky stitched rectangle die cuts were colored with vintage photo distress ink and then stenciling was done on them. The tag die cut was colored with water colors and distress inks and then the title "Spread Your Wings" was stamped. The secondary title "Fly High: Sky is the Limit" was also stamped using archival ink. The chipboards and mdf cut out were colored with brown camlin brush pen. Then the fussy cut images, die cuts, gauze, chipboards, mdf cutout and twine were all arranged and adhered using Tombow mono multi glue. In the end, few blue and brown splashes were created with the sprays and the edges of the layout were distressed and darkened with distress ink.
