Post 235: Mixed Media Layout- Be the You, You Want to Be

Hi friends :)

I'd like to share a Mixed Media Layout today. I really love the sentiment on it which reads, "Be the You, You Want to Be". I have played with pinks here with white, black and silver for contrast and highlights. I have done background stamping and stenciling. The sentiments, stamped butterflies and chipboard butterflies and feathers are heat embossed in silver and pink. I have tried to create some texture and layers here. Colors were added with sprays and acrylics with a base coat of gesso. In the end, created some splatter. Have added flowers, gems and twine as embellishments. The layout is quite glittery in real life.

Here are a few close-up photos of the layout:

Post 233: CAS Card- Sparkle

Hi friends :)

How are you today ? Still recovering from the flu bug but that doesn't keep me away from crafting :) I'd like to share a Clean and Simple Card. This is a standard A2 sized landscape style side folding card. The process was simple enough, I've done some inlaid die cutting. The word sparkle has been made dimensional by adhering 2 black die cuts under the sparkly gold die cut. I've added some gold splatter with perfect pearls and in the end, added a few flat star sequins. The card is quite shiny and sparkly, I'm not sure it shows up in the photos.

List of Supplies:

Winnie & Walter Essential Cutaways- Lana Cutaways
Die Cuts & More - Word Die: Sparkle
Perfect Pearls- gold
Tombow Mono Multi Glue
Gold Flat Sequins
White Cardstock 270 gsm
Snippets of Black Cardstock

Here are a couple of photos of the card:

I am playing along with the following challenges:

W & W Rerun No. 21 - I didn't have the Kindness stamp set so I chose the alternative, I was inspired by Kate's card. I loved the way she used the shine die cut in gold color across the middle of her card along with the gold splatter, I have done my own version of the same.
CASology #258 - Diamond (When I think of diamonds, I think of their shine and sparkle)

Post 232: Mixed Media Layout: Beautiful

Hi Friends :)

I'd like to share a Mixed Media Layout titled "beautiful" today. The sketch and colors of my layout are influenced by the Dusty Attic Moodboard for July. I loved those colors :)

Process:

I found this really beautiful and powerful image of a dancer with fire coming out from her. So decided to make a layout around it.

I altered the Dusty Attic Chipboards by embossing them, to add color, dimension and shine :) the feathers were attached to the dancer's photo to depict flying, she almost looks like a modern angel to me! The paradise bird chipboard was embossed in multiple colors to add interest. I added thread at some places for texture. At the bottom of the photo, I've added strings of thread and beads, I think it almost looks like a dream catcher :)

I thought about what secondary sentiments to add and then decided to add words associated with true beauty; #authentic, #amazing by stamping and genuine, artful, soulful and creative with stickers.

I've done stenciling with distress inks and background stamping. Layers of colors were added using acrylic paints and zig markers. In the end, I created some splatter of gesso and ink.

Here are a few close-up photos of the layout:

Hi friends :)

How are you ? Any plans for the weekend ? I'm still under the weather and trying to recover from the flu. A few new supplies got delivered today and I was so excited to play with them. I sat on the bed and crafted there only because I didn't have the energy to get up and work on the craft table. I've got a floral card to share today. This is a standard A2 sized top folding card. I enjoyed watercoloring it with zig markers and an aqua brush. The sentiment is a grungy one which I really like, it reads "shine" I thought this will be a nice encouraging card to send to a friend to pep her spirits :)

Post 230: CAS Engagement Card

Hi folks!

I'd like to share a Clean and Simple Engagement card I made. This is a standard A2 sized top folding card. I was inspired by the cue word "diamond" and the first thing that popped into my mind was an engagement ring, so I decided to depict that on the card. I have used part of a Cheery Lynn Designs Wedding Vows die cut  here (cut off the ornate frame from it) and then added a gem to depict the diamond ring. I curved the sentiment, "celebrate" from Winnie & Walter's The Big, The Bold & Extras Stamp set and stamped it in a blue ink (Ranger's Dye Ink- Caribbean Coast).

Here are a couple of photos of the card:

I am playing along with the following challenges:

Double D Challenge- Pop of color (the addition of the blue sentiment to the black and white is my pop of color)

Thanks for your time :)

Post 229: Floral Birthday Card

Hi folks!

How've you been? I haven't been feeling too good lately, I think it may be the flu. So have less energy to sit and create. Hopefully, it will get better in a couple of days. For now, I'd like to share a floral birthday card I made a couple of days back but wasn't able to blog about. This is a standard A2 sized top folding card. This card was my way of salvaging a card panel that I wasn't entirely happy with. I started out thinking it will be a CAS card but as the stamping progressed, I wasn't happy with the design, so I decided to stamp all over the panel and create a flowery themed card instead. I used a mix of blue and green Ranger inkpads I had (sorry don't remember which ones I used exactly), colored in with some pencil colors and in the end added a few details with a couple of zig markers. Added a few watercolored and die cut butterflies as well. The sentiment is stamped on a tag that's been watercolored and tied with some twine.

List of Supplies:

Winnie & Walter Essentials: Audrey Cutaways
Winnie & Walter Essentials: Lana Cutaways
Winnie & Walter Stamp: Eva's Favorite Flowers
Hero Arts Stamp & Cut- Birthday
Canson Watercolor Paper
Derwent Pencil Colors
Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens
Ranger's Archival Inkpads and Dye Inkpads
Versafine Onyx Black Mini Inkpad
Aqua Brush
Twine
Tombow Mono Multi Glue

Here is a photo of the card:

I am playing along with the following challenges:

3. Butterfly Challenge #82- M (butterflies + pairs of stamped floral images)
4. SSS Monday Challenge- Get in shape (used 3d butterflies here)

Post 228: Floral Card

Hi friends :)

How are you this saturday afternoon? I hope your weekend is going well. Today, I'd like to share a floral card I created with a new altenew stamp I recently bought. Mum and I were crafting together last night, just for fun and she water colored the floral images with the new gansai tambi colors I bought and then in the morning, I added some details with pencil colors, I do not have the fancy prisma or polychromos pencils, so just used the Derwent ones which I've had for ages but not used. My sister gifted them to me when I was in school :) Fussy cut them and created a background water color wash for the floral arrangement, created some splatter, added some thread for interest and texture and adhered the floral arrangement. In the end, added a few clear drops and some details with a white gel pen.

List of Supplies:

Altenew Stamp- Adore you
Cutplorations Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Die
Versafine Onyx Black Mini Inkpad
Gansai Tambi Watercolors
Derwent Pencil Colors
Thread
Tombow Mono Multi Glue
Canson Watercolor Paper
White Cardstock 250 gsm
DCAM clear droplets
Sakura Gelly Roll White Gel Pen

Here are a couple of photographs of the card:

Post 227: CAS Birthday Card

Hi friends :)

I'd like to share a Clean and Simple Birthday Card today. This is a standard A2 sized top folding card. I seem to need tons of birthday cards so it is always a good idea to make a few extras :)
Essentially, the background is done by sponging inks through a hexagon stencil. The flower was die cut twice in black and white and adhered slightly off set for a shadowy effect. The smaller negative pieces from the die cut were also lightly colored with distress oxide inks and adhered back into the design. The bee and sentiment were stamped and in the end a few clear drops were added.

List of Supplies:

Lawn Fawn Small Dotted Rectangle Die
Ranger's Distress Oxide Inkpads- Cracked Pistachio and Worn Lipstick
Memento Dye Inkpad- Angel Pink
White Cardstock 250 gsm
Ranger's round blending tool and foams
Hexagon Stencil
Versafine Onyx Black Mini Inkpad
DCAM clear drops
Glossy Accents
Tombow Mono Multi Glue

Post 226: Mixed Media Layout- Friends

Hi folks!

How are you doing ?
Today, I'd like to share a Mixed Media Layout titled Friends.
This is 12 by 12 inches in size.
I was inspired by the photo of the 2 little ones walking hand and hand and decided to make a layout with it. It signifies friendship and a beautiful happy day spent with friends.
There are mostly butterflies and flowers on this layout with the color scheme: white, black and lavender.
The base is white cardstock on which I have done watercoloring with gansai tambi colors and stencil work with distress oxides.
Then, did some background stamping for interest.
Further, added stamped (on canson watercolor paper), watercolored and fussy cut images in layers.
I've tried to create texture with multiple layers and patterns.
In the end, few splatters were created with watered down white gesso and inks.
I've used the following Altenew stamps here: Bamboo Rose, Floral Frame and Fresh Freesia

Here are a few photographs of the layout:
