Post 197: Father's Day Card

Hi friends :)

I'd like to share a simple and cute father's day card today. This is a top folding A2 size card. I have used a geometrical design stencil and the main colors as blue and green on the card to keep the project masculine. I loved the way the background came out with the stencil and distress ink blending. The critter images were stamped with archival ink and the heart with distress oxide. The sentiment was stamped on a strip of black cardstock in fossilized amber distress oxide but since it did not show up very brightly, I went over it with a white gel pen. In the end, embellished the card with a few silver sequins and a yellow half pearl.

List of Supplies:

Winnie & Walter: Scenery- Do you see what I see ? Creative Screenings
Winnie & Walter Stamp: The Big, the Bold and the Happy
Winnie & Walter Stamp: Welcome to the family with Evelin T. Designs
Ranger's Distress Inkpads- Forest Moss and Peacock Feathers

Ranger's Distress Oxide- Fossilized Amber and Worn Lipstick
Sakura Gelli Roll White Pen
Iris White Cardstock
Snippet of Black Cardstock

Post 191- CAS One Layer Card (coolest dad)

Hi Friends!

Hows the week looking so far? Mine is going great, I have been organizing and cleaning my craft space, it is a tiring process but much needed. I will slowly go through the room by taking up mini areas to work on instead of all of it together, otherwise, it becomes too overwhelming for me. I've gotten the stamps and inks kind of sorted for now. Will move onto the cardstock next.

I'd like to share a Clean and Simple One Layer Card today. This is an A2 size top folding card. Boy! oh! Boy! I have to tell you, one layer cas cards scare me because it is so tough to get them right and working directly on the card base is so difficult for me. So I challenged myself to do it today :)

I wanted it to have a summer theme so went from yellows and oranges into blues near the word "coolest". I have done Heat Embossing in black and white here along with Distress ink and Distress oxide Ink blending, this was a resist technique since heat embossed images resist distress ink. I wiped off the ink that sat on top of the embossed letters. This is a masculine card for father's day so I added triangle borders to the ink blended panel because with masculine cards I think geometrical designs go so well. I added the word "pop" by hand using an embossing pen because I thought it was a nice play on words and made for a cute pun, "pop"- "popsicle". The sentiment reads, "Dad, you're the coolest pop ever". I also colored in some of the triangles black and blue for added interest. I'm so happy I kept the card totally flat by adding no more embellishments and was true to the CAS OLC spirit.

List of Supplies:

Uniko Stamps- Background Builders: Triangulate (for the triangular borders)
Lawn Fawn Stamps- Best Pun (for the sentiment)
Distress Mini Inkpads- Chipped Sapphire, Broken China, Peacock Feathers
Distress Oxide Inkpads- Fossilized Amber and Spiced Marmalade
Memento Mini Inkpad- Tuxedo Black
Versamark Watermark Mini Inkpad
Homemade Emboss Buddy
Ranger's Super Fine Detail Embossing Powders- Black and White
Ranger's Embossing Pen (for writing POP)
Black Sharpie- Fine Point (for coloring the triangles)
Blue Zig Marker (for coloring the triangles)
Masking Tape
Ranger's Heat Tool

Post 181- Steampunk Mixed Media Layout: Father

Hi friends :)

I'd like to share a Masculine Mixed Media Layout today. This is dedicated to my dad and fathers everywhere :) It is to celebrate Father's Day. I used the Steampunk Style in this layout by including clocks, gears, cogs, metal chain, metal stars, moustaches, goggles and top hat. Two of the sentiments read "support" and "courage" because my dad has been a big support and has always taught us to have courage. I have created multiple layers of color by using gelatos, zigs and distress inks. The tags are die cuts and also some old packaging. Did background stamping and stenciling. To give texture added modelling paste through a stencil. Then, added doodled details with white acrylic paint. Finished off the project with some white splatter.
