Diwali CAS card

Hi folks!

I made a CAS card yesterday but was too tired to photograph and blog about it so here I am today sharing it. I wanted to keep it simple and focus on the beauty exemplified by the concept of "less is more". I wanted the card to have just a hint of gold. The card is to wish a Happy Diwali to the recipient and in case you don't know, Diwali is a festival celebrated in India with a lot of pomp and enthusiasm. It is the festival of lights, the festival when we celebrate the victory of good over evil and so it is family time, wherein we have get-togethers, grand meals, sweets, we dress in our best attire, light oil lamps and candles and essentially make merry. Do google it and check it out :) it is a fun festival to celebrate no matter where you stay.

Here are a few pictures of the card.

Process and Supplies Used:

I have used 2 Mudra Stamp Sets for this card namely the Om Shree set and the Crackers set.
I have stamped the Ganeshji design in 3 colors using a mix and match of stamp pads I had. I wanted a yellow hue, Pinkish-reddish hue and green hue. So I used the Ranger Emerald Green Archival ink, Chrome Yellow and Carnation Red. Then to create the circular blobs on top of the stamped images I used ranger distress inks with a koi waterbrush, I used the picked raspberry, evergreen bough and mustard seed colors. Then I die cut a piece of vellum with the Gina K. designs stitched scalloped ovals design die and heat embossed the Happy Diwali stamp from mudra on it using versamark champagne stamp pad and ranger's fine gold embossing powder. This did not give me a very precise image on the words so I stamped on top of the embossed image with ranger's archival jet black ink. This made the Happy Diwali pop out. To add more interest to the card I adhered a few gold sequins and then used foam tape to tape the vellum to the card base which is white cardstock 6 by 6 inches in size, top opening.

Hope you liked the card. Thanks for your time!

I am linking this card to the following challenges:

1.
PCM Challenges: October- A hint of gold  - I have used gold embossing powder to heat emboss the sentiment and also gold sequins on the vellum

2.

Indian Craft Room- October Challenge: Anything Goes + Moodboard - I was inspired by the theme of diwali from the moodboard along with the colors.

4. Mudra Challenge #2 - I have included three of the colors from the color palette (yellow, green and pink) and for shine there is gold heat embossing of the sentiment and golden sequins
