Art Journal Page: Embrace Imperfection & Treasure Life Together

Hi Friends!!

I'm so glad you have taken the time to visit me here, thanks a lot :)
I wanted to share with you an art journal page I made.
I had black and white striped paper from a stamping experiment, some fabric tape left over from a project and many tags from a new technique I tried i.e., nail polish marbling technique, so I wanted to use all these pieces in one project and this journal page is what came out of it.  Thanks to Rahmat for sharing a video on nail polish marbling, do give it a go, its super fun to try!  :)

I think sometimes in life we forget the important things and waste our time and effort on being or looking perfect. Instead I feel it is really important to spend quality time with people we really care about, accept the flaws in ourselves and others and live life with love and kindness. The sentiment I've included is inspired from the need to accept ourselves and our partners for who and what they are and revel in the joy of togetherness :)

Synopsis of the process :

I applied camlin white gesso on an old diary page. After that I did some random stamping of a maple leaf stamp from the Winnie & Walter- A tree for all seasons stamp set with ranger's jet black archival ink. Then I created layers with the marbled tags, some chevron design pink fabric tape, some scraps of striped papers, all these papers were layered and adhered using Tombow Multi Glue. Some butterflies were stamped from the Kaisercraft butterflies stamp set with archival jet black ink and colored with zig markers and an aqua brush. The background maple leaves were colored with zig markers and an aqua brush to add depth, the edges of the papers were also darkened to give definition to them.  Tim Holtz chit chat stickers were used for the sentiment, glossy accents was added on top of these stickers to give shine and added interest. Some slanting lines were drawn on the project using a black sharpie. Some silver sequins were added for shimmer and bling :)
