Post 114: Cheers Card (Ink Smooshing)

Hi Friends

I'd like to share a card with you today. I'm also excited to share that I am having a small crafty giveaway which is open to anyone worldwide (international folks are most welcome). All the details can be found here -- I'd be super thrilled and honored if you play along :) the prize is a 25 USD gift certificate to any store you like.

Now onto the card, this is a side folding A2 size card. I have used 2 main techniques in this card, ink smooshing and embossing with a die

Synopsis of the Process:-

The white stitched rectangle die cut panel was embossed using the Winnie & Walter cutaways "Cheers" using a sizzix embossing pad and a sizzix big shot plus machine. Then 3 colors of distress ink: mustard seed, picked raspberry and peacock feathers were smooshed onto a piece of acetate and then some water was spritzed on the acetate, this acetate was then smooshed onto the embossed panel to create a loose organic looking water colored effect. A black colored die cut of the word was then adhered to the panel. The panel was adhered to the blue card base using liquid glue and some sequins were added (using glossy accents) to finish the card.

Supplies Used:

1. Winnie & Walter Cutaways- Cheers
2. Ranger: Tim holtz mini distress inkpads- mustard seed, picked raspberry and peacock feathers
3. Water spray bottle
4. Sizzix Embossing pad
5. Sizzix big shot plus

  6. What a beautiful card you've created here! I really love the smooshing that you did and how they blend together so well. I also thought it was a really nice touch to have the embossed copy of your sentiment there on the card as well. This is full of wonderful details and I'm so glad you shared your work with us here at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog!
