Post 147: Mixed Media Butterfly Tag 1

Hi friends :)

First of all, thanks a lot for all your sweet and kind comments and prayers, my mum is feeling better and is on the mend, there are still more results awaited from the hospital but praying to God that everything is okay. Big panda hugs to you all xoxoxo.

I was free for a while today so thought of indulging in some crafting. Made a couple of mixed media tags. Sharing the first one here. The color scheme is black, white and shades of yellow. The sentiment reads "The butterfly counts not months but moments and has time enough."

Synopsis of the process:

-Took the die cut tag and colored it in some places with distress inks and sprays then did stenciling with distress ink
- Did background stamping with multiple stamps using distress ink and archival ink.
-Added some darker details with the stencil and a black marker
-On snippets of cardstock, stamped the sentiment and butterflies with jet black archival ink. The butterflies were fussy cut and the sentiment label was prepared by stamping in the background and distressing the edges and coloring it here and there to give a grungy look. Then the butterflies and sentiment were adhered to the tag.
-A yellow eyelet was added to the tag using a crop-a-dile
- Some seam binding was colored with black and yellow colored sprays and tied to the tag.
- Lastly, a darker border was created with inks and faux stitching was added using a black sharpie.
